1. PRELIMINARY PROVISIONS & INCORPORATION
The platform accessible via https://ikefielddirect.com.au (hereinafter referred to as the "Platform"), including all associated subdomains and redirecting URLs owned by IKEFIELD TECH, is owned and operated exclusively by IKEFIELD TECHNOLOGY PTY LTD (ABN 76 631 793 265), a proprietary limited company incorporated under the laws of Australia, having its registered office situated at 55 Henderson Rd, Rowville, VIC 3178 (hereinafter referred to as "IKEFIELD TECH"). Throughout these terms, the commercial brand "Ikefield Direct" refers to the retail operations and services provided by IKEFIELD TECH.
2. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS
The use of Ikefield Direct and its SERVICES implies the absolute and irrevocable acceptance of these General Conditions of Use (GCU). By accessing, browsing, or completing a transaction on the Platform, the USER (hereinafter including BUYERS and SELLERS) acknowledges having carefully read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these GCU. These terms are accessible via a hypertext link at the bottom of every page on the Platform. Any use of the Platform without such acceptance is strictly prohibited.
3. WARRANTIES, REPAIRS & IKEFIELD CARE
3.1 Statutory Rights & Ikefield Care (Service Upgrade)
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Ikefield Care: This is an optional, premium Service and Maintenance Program. It offers benefits in addition to (and does not replace) your statutory rights under the ACL, such as priority technical diagnostics at our Rowville hub and discounted preventive maintenance.
3.2 Standard Voluntary Warranty
In addition to your ACL rights, Ikefield Direct provides a voluntary 3-Month-Vendor Warranty on substantiated hardware and software defects originating from the refurbishment process.
Remedy: Should a repair be deemed unfeasible, Ikefield Direct reserves the right to provide a replacement, financial compensation, or store credit at its sole discretion.
3.3 Strict Exclusion of Liability (What is NOT Covered)
The warranty shall be immediately forfeited and rendered void if the device exhibits any of the following:
-
Physical & Liquid Damage: Any signs of drops, physical impact (including internal OLED damage not visible on the casing), or liquid ingress. Note: No warranty is provided for water resistance on any pre-owned or refurbished products.
-
Unauthorised Access: Evidence of the product being opened, repaired, or diagnosed by any party other than the Ikefield Direct technical team.
-
Misuse: Damage resulting from "shady software" installations, malware, or battery wear and tear through abnormal usage.
-
Reporting Delay: Failure to report a defect promptly or delaying the return of the device.
- Consumable & Wearable Parts: The warranty strictly excludes "consumable" or "wear-and-tear" components that are designed to diminish over time through normal operation. (e.g., HEPA filters, side brushes, rollers for Robot Vacuums; nozzles and build plates for 3D Printers).
3.4 Data Integrity & Account Security (Mandatory)
Ikefield Direct accepts ZERO liability for the loss, corruption, or disclosure of data.
-
Prerequisite for Service: BUYERS must remove all Apple IDs, Google Accounts, Passcodes, and personal data locks prior to dispatch.
-
Refusal of Claim: Claims cannot be processed if the device remains locked. Such units will be returned at the BUYER’s expense without inspection.
3.5 Hygiene & Restocking Protocols (Health & Safety)
-
Hygiene Standards: Devices such as Robot Vacuums are classified as hygiene-sensitive products. Once the device has been utilized (i.e., has collected dust or debris), it is no longer in a "New/Resellable" condition.
-
Restocking Fees: For "Change of Mind" returns where the device has been opened or used, Ikefield Direct reserves the right to deduct a Restocking Fee of up to 25% from the refund total. This fee covers the mandatory replacement of hygiene components and the technical recalibration required to return the unit to a sellable state.
3.6 Logistics & Processing Timelines
Return Logistics & Costs
- Return Logistics: The BUYER is solely responsible for arranging and paying for the return shipping of the device to our Rowville service centre. Ikefield Direct does not provide pre-paid return labels. * Transit Risk: The BUYER is responsible for packing the device securely using appropriate protective materials. Any damage or loss sustained during transit is the sender's responsibility. We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service.
- Cost Allocation: For claims confirmed as valid warranty cases, Ikefield Direct will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replacement unit back to the Buyer. However, the initial cost of sending the device to us remains with the Buyer unless otherwise required by the Australian Consumer Law for major failures. For invalid claims (e.g., customer-induced damage), all two-way logistics and diagnostic fees shall be borne exclusively by the Buyer.
Processing Timelines
- Inspection: Ikefield Direct aims to inspect, repair, or replace units within 7 business days of receipt (subject to account lock verification).
4. SECURITY & WAREHOUSE PICKUP PROTOCOLS (ANTI-FRAUD)
4.1 Mandatory Verification Requirements
To safeguard against illicit transactions and financial fraud, all orders designated for Warehouse Pickup (Rowville Hub) are subject to a rigorous identity verification process. The BUYER is strictly required to present the following original documentation at the time of collection:
-
Proof of Identity: A valid, current Australian Government-issued photo identification (e.g., Driver’s Licence or Passport).
-
Payment Authentication: The physical credit or debit card utilised to facilitate the original online transaction.
4.2 Absolute Right of Refusal
Ikefield Direct reserves the exclusive right to withhold the release of goods if the documentation provided is deemed insufficient, expired, or inconsistent with the order details. No goods shall be released without the simultaneous presentation of both valid identification and the original payment instrument.
4.3 Indemnification of Liability
Ikefield Direct shall not be held liable for any secondary costs, including but not limited to travel expenses, courier fees, or time-related losses, incurred by the Buyer due to their failure to comply with these mandatory security protocols. Any suspected fraudulent attempts will be documented and reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities.
5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & ACL COMPLIANCE
Nothing in these GCU purports to exclude, restrict, or modify any non-excludable condition or warranty conferred by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). To the maximum extent permitted by law, IKEFIELD TECH (trading as Ikefield Direct) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Liability is strictly limited to the replacement, repair, or refund of the goods.
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All trademarks, logos (including the iF and Ikefield brands), graphics, and software solutions on the Platform are the exclusive intellectual property of IKEFIELD TECH. Any unauthorised reproduction or representation will constitute an infringement and will be subject to prosecution.
7. JURISDICTION & DISPUTE RESOLUTION
These GCU shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia.
-
Amicable Settlement: Parties shall first attempt to resolve disputes via bona fide negotiations with the Ikefield Direct support team.
-
Arbitration: Failing settlement within 30 days, disputes shall be settled by binding arbitration in Victoria, Australia, in accordance with the Commercial Arbitration Act 2011 (VIC).
