The Ikefield Grading Guide: No Guesswork, Just Honest Tech

G'day from the Ikefield crew in Melbourne!

We know that when you’re buying refurbished tech—you want to know exactly what’s arriving at your doorstep.

At Ikefield Direct, we don’t do guesswork. Because our founder spent years running global service centers for world-leading brands, we don't do "she'll be right" when it comes to quality. Every device that enters our Rowville hub goes through a rigorous mutil-point  technical audit. While the "Grade" tells you about the outside, our Ikefield Standard ensures the "Grunt" (performance) inside is 100%.

Grade The Look (Appearance) The Nicks (Scratches) The Mileage (Usage) The Grunt (Functionality)

A Deeper Look at Our Standards

1. The Look (Cosmetic Condition)

  • Open Box: These units are essentially brand new. The packaging might have been opened, but the machine itself hasn't seen any action.

  • Premium: Looks fantastic. It’s for the folks who want a "pristine" feel without the brand-new price tag.

  • Excellent: Shows some very light signs of life, but nothing that'll stop it from looking great in your home.

  • Good: These units have a bit of character. They’ve got some cosmetic wear, but they are built to work hard.

2. The Nicks (Scratches & Scuffs)

  • Open Box: Not a blemish in sight. It’s pristine.

  • Premium: You might find one or two tiny "hairline" marks if you look really closely under a bright light, but that’s it.

  • Excellent: Might have a few light scuffs on the casing from normal handling, but any screens will be clear and easy to read.

  • Good: Expect some visible scratches or maybe a minor dent on the casing. This is purely cosmetic—the tech inside is still top-tier.

3. The Mileage (Usage & Life)

  • Open Box: Zero "kms" on the clock. It’s only been powered on for our quality checks.

  • Premium: Very low battery cycles (usually under 10). It’s essentially a "young" machine.

  • Excellent: Typical usage for a pre-owned device. We ensure the battery still holds a solid charge (at least 85% of original capacity).

  • Good: It’s been around the block, but we’ve given it a full service. Any parts that were worn out have been swapped for brand-new ones by our Rowville team.

4. The Grunt (Functionality) — Our Non-Negotiable

  • Performance: No matter which grade you pick, the performance is identical.

  • Certified Tech: Every sensor, motor, and circuit board has been stress-tested by our pros.

  • Clean as a Whistle: Every robot vacuum gets a hospital-grade deep clean and brand-new filters and brushes.

  • Latest Tech: All units are updated to the latest stable firmware and are 100% unlocked and ready to pair.

Which one is for you?

  • Want the best? Go for Open Box or Premium. You won't be disappointed.

  • Want the "Sweet Spot"? Excellent is our most popular choice for a reason—it’s the perfect balance of price and condition.

  • On a Budget? Grab a Good grade. It might have a few scratches, but it’ll clean your floors or print your designs just as well as a new one.
