When you’re buying open-box or refurbished tech, you deserve to know what will arrive at your doorstep.

Every machine that enters our Rowville hub undergoes a comprehensive multi-point inspection, functional testing, and cleaning before being listed for sale.

Our grading system primarily reflects cosmetic condition. Whether you choose Open Box, Excellent, Very Good, or Good, every machine must meet the same Ikefield functional standard for its model.

A Closer Look at Each Grade

Open Box

The packaging has been opened, but the machine is either unused or has only been briefly trialled. It shows no noticeable signs of use and has not undergone any repairs—only inspection and functional testing.

Excellent

Very clean overall, with no obvious signs of use. Minor hairline scratches or small cosmetic imperfections may be visible upon close inspection.

Very Good

Shows light signs of use, such as minor scratches, scuffs, or small marks, while maintaining a well-kept overall appearance.

Good

Shows more noticeable signs of normal use, including visible scratches, scuffs, marks, or other cosmetic wear. These differences relate to appearance rather than the machine’s tested functionality.

The Ikefield Functional Standard

Cosmetic grade does not change our functional requirements. Before listing, every machine goes through:

  • Comprehensive inspection — Key components and functions are checked according to the product and model.

  • Functional testing — Each machine must operate as intended and meet the same testing requirements, regardless of cosmetic grade.

  • Complete cleaning — Every machine is carefully cleaned and prepared before sale.

  • Individual condition review — As cosmetic details can vary between machines, please refer to the listing photos and description for the condition of the specific unit.
